Creating Safe Homes, Stronger Communities, and Brighter Futures

About Me

My name is Faith McFarlane, Founder and Director of NMS Community CIC.

I have worked in the health and social care sector for over eight years as a nurse, supporting individuals with a wide range of health and social needs. Throughout my career, I have witnessed firsthand the challenges that many vulnerable people face, including homelessness, mental health difficulties, disabilities, social isolation, and a lack of suitable accommodation and support.

Whilst working in healthcare, I often found myself caring for people whose needs extended far beyond their medical conditions. Many needed stability, guidance, safe housing, and someone who believed in their ability to overcome their circumstances. Seeing these gaps in support inspired me to establish NMS Community CIC.

I created NMS Community CIC because I wanted to make a lasting difference in people's lives, not only through care but by helping individuals access opportunities, independence, and a brighter future. Our organisation was built on the belief that everyone deserves dignity, compassion, and the opportunity to reach their full potential, regardless of the challenges they face.

Through our work in supported accommodation, domiciliary care, and community support services, we provide more than just accommodation or care. We provide hope, stability, encouragement, and the practical support people need to rebuild their lives.

As someone who has dedicated my career to caring for others, I understand the importance of delivering support that is person-centred, compassionate, and empowering. My vision is to create services that transform lives, strengthen communities, and create employment opportunities for local people.

About This Project

At NMS Community CIC, we are raising funds to expand our supported accommodation, domiciliary care, and community support services for vulnerable adults and young people.

Every day, we meet people who are facing some of the most difficult periods of their lives. Some are at risk of homelessness, some are leaving hospital with little support, some are living with mental health challenges, and others simply need guidance and encouragement to live independently.

Behind every referral is a person with hopes, dreams, and potential. Unfortunately, many are held back by circumstances beyond their control.

Our project is focused on creating safe and supportive environments where individuals can rebuild confidence, improve wellbeing, develop life skills, access opportunities, and work towards a brighter future. We believe that everyone deserves the chance to live safely, independently, and with purpose.

We do not simply provide accommodation and care. We provide the foundation people need to rebuild their lives and move forward with confidence.

The funding raised will allow us to support more people, improve the quality of our services, and create lasting positive outcomes for individuals, families, and communities.

How Much Money Do We Need and What Will It Be Used For?

We are seeking to raise £10,000 to support the growth and development of our services.

The funding will be used to:

Furnish and equip supported accommodation properties.

Provide welcome packs and essential household items for residents.

Deliver wellbeing, life-skills, and independence programmes.

Support community outreach and engagement activities.

Train and develop staff and volunteers.

Purchase resources and equipment that improve service delivery.

Expand accommodation and care services to reach more people in need.

Proposed Budget

Item Cost

Furnishing and equipping accommodation £4,000

Resident welcome packs and essentials £1,500

Wellbeing and life-skills programmes £2,000

Staff and volunteer training £1,000

Resources and equipment£1,000

Project administration and delivery £500

Total £10,000

If We Exceed Our Funding Target

Whilst our initial target is £10,000, our ambition and the need within our communities extend far beyond that figure.

Every additional pound raised will allow us to support more vulnerable adults and young people who need safe accommodation, care, guidance, and opportunities to rebuild their lives.

Exceeding our target would enable us to secure additional accommodation, expand our support services, develop new community initiatives, and reach more individuals who are currently unable to access the help they need.

It would also allow us to create meaningful employment opportunities within the health and social care sector. As our services grow, we will be able to recruit and train additional support workers, care staff, administrators, and community project workers, helping local people build rewarding careers while making a difference in the lives of others.

This project is about much more than raising money. It is about creating opportunities, restoring hope, strengthening communities, and helping people achieve the futures they deserve.

The more we raise, the more lives we can change.

Where Is The Project Based?

The project is based in the South East of England and supports individuals across Surrey, Berkshire, and surrounding areas.

Our services are designed to support vulnerable adults and young people who require accommodation, care, support, and opportunities to live independently and improve their quality of life.

The Team

Faith McFarlane – Founder and Director

Faith has over eight years of nursing experience and has dedicated her career to supporting vulnerable individuals across health and social care settings. Her experience has given her a deep understanding of the challenges people face and a passion for creating services that deliver meaningful, lasting change.

NMS Community CIC Team

Our team consists of dedicated care professionals, support workers, housing partners, therapists, community organisations, and volunteers who share a commitment to helping people live independently and achieve their full potential.

We are also building strong partnerships with local authorities, healthcare professionals, landlords, and community organisations to ensure individuals receive the support they need to thrive.

Risks and Challenges

Like many organisations working within health, social care, and housing, we face challenges including rising operational costs, increasing demand for services, and the need to secure sufficient resources to support everyone who requires help.

As demand continues to grow, maintaining high-quality, person-centred support while expanding services is an ongoing challenge.

How We Will Overcome Them

We are committed to overcoming these challenges through:

Careful financial planning and governance.

Strong partnerships with local authorities and community organisations.

Continuous staff training and development.

Robust quality assurance and monitoring processes.

Diversifying our income through grants, fundraising, contracts, and community partnerships.

By taking a sustainable and strategic approach, we can continue to grow whilst maintaining the quality and compassion that sit at the heart of everything we do.

Our Vision

At NMS Community CIC, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to live safely, with dignity, independence, and hope for the future.

With your support, we can provide more than accommodation and care. We can provide stability where there is uncertainty, opportunity where there are barriers, and hope where it is needed most.

Together, we can help people rebuild their lives, strengthen communities, create employment opportunities, and ensure that nobody is left behind.

Every donation is an investment in people, potential, and lasting positive change.
