Bristol Based Campaigning Group ‘Protect Our NHS’ Achieve Crowdfunding Success

June 2014

Bristol based film maker, Steve Timmins, a member of the campaign group, Protect our NHS (ProNHS), is delighted to announce that he has hit his funding target on the crowdfunding platform Fundsurfer.

The funds will be used to complete a documentary film about ProNHS’s two-year campaign to keep NHS services in the Bristol region out of the hands of private health companies and ensure that the public is properly consulted about any changes to their health services.

Already the filming has covered marches, demonstrations, meetings, a major legal challenge and will go on to cover a giant flash choir singing a thank you to the NHS outside one of Bristol’s hospitals.

Protect our NHS is fighting for a comprehensive, integrated, cost effective, transparent and Not for Profit, NHS providing high quality services, free at the point of delivery and not subject to EU competition regulations. It believes that the welfare of patients must always come first.

Steve Timmins said:

“Fundsurfer have given me this great opportunity to produce a film on a subject that is vitally important to everybody in this country. They have been totally supportive throughout the whole process, providing additional support where needed”

Derek Ahmedzai, co-founder of Fundsurfer said:

“Protect Our NHS is a great example of the kind of projects we envisaged Fundsurfer helping to fund. We are really excited to work with local filmmakers across the region on their short films and feature film projects”
