We’re taking Omelette to VAULT Festival. It is a new play by Anna Spearpoint about climate anxiety. We need your support to help make it happen!

About Omelette

Mia and Mo have been to all the marches, turned off the heating and eaten the goldfish – but the climate’s still collapsing and they’re buckling under the pressure of saving the planet. Omelette is a new play by Anna Spearpoint, directed by Tash Hyman about climate anxiety, giving things up, and the pressure to do the right thing all the time. It runs from 18-23 February 2020 at VAULT Festival in the Waterloo tunnels, London. Together, the creative team are working to make Omelette a sustainable production.

About Long Distance

Long Distance is a new writing company set up by producer Tom Bevan. They want their shows to shake you up, and make you smile.

Why We Need Your Support

Putting on a play is an expensive business.

We have received support from Arts Council England to help cover some of our costs, but we still need to raise £5,000 to make Omelette happen. We are asking you - families, friends, colleagues, admirers, generous strangers - to help us raise at least half of these remaining costs.

Our main costs are creative team and actor fees*, rehearsal space, marketing of the show, sourcing recycled/upcycled/second hand set and props. There are also costs involved in technical hires and staffing support from VAULT.

*We are committed to paying all our cast and creative team industry standard rates, taking guidance from ITC (the Independent Theatre Council) and Equity. Our team is made up of:

  • two actors
  • a writer
  • a director
  • two co-designers
  • a dramaturg
  • a lighting designer
  • a sound designer
  • a producer

We will also be working with trainee Stage Managers from National Youth Theatre, and will be covering their expenses.

We are really excited to be making this show as sustainably as possible, and at London's most exciting performing arts festival. Your support will be invaluable as we develop and rehearse the show, engage audiences, and stage the production.

Hopefully see you at VAULT in February!

Big love,

Anna, Tom, Tash and the team x
