An update for The Layers' album

    Feb 20 2020

To everyone who backed our project, once again we thank you.

We're delighted to announce that the album is finished and really excited for you to hear it!

It's going to take about a week to get the CDs made and printed, the process has begun and then we'll deliver them to you in person or by post as soon as we can, along with the tee-shirts that we spent a merry weekend making. Your gifts will be with you very soon!

For those of you that ordered a digital version of the album, there will be an email coming to you very soon with a secure download link.

We couldn't be more excited about this and we hope that you enjoy listening to it as much as we did making it.

Please come and celebrate with us at the Old Library in Bristol if you possibly can on the 29th of February. We'd love to shake your hand and thank you in person for being a part of this project.

    Unlimited love from The Layers.

  • So far, so GOOD!

An update for The Man Down Programme

    Feb 12 2020

    Dear Friends of MDP,

This is our first ever post!

I just wanted to keep you all up-to-date with how the programme is looking.

Excitingly we start filming on the 28th February, our first interview is with Rory Graham AKA Rag N Boneman – I am so excited for my road trip, but I am more excited to hear Rory’s story of the music industry and how he has found being famous. If you would like to read a little bit about why he is involved in the MDP you can, head across to our website and read all about the participants there......  https://www.mandownprogramme.com/participants

We are immensely grateful to all of you for your support up until now, this project is a labour of love for the people behind the scenes and we are working around the clock to ensure that we meet your expectations.

The thing I have learned since we launched the crowdfunder is that people truly believe in us.

We have received a high number of messages from people telling us their stories, they have thanked us and they are feeling heard.  In a time where I was worried that we may not have the impact I had hoped, these messages were a beacon of light.

Some messages simply said “thank you”. We are overwhelmed by these messages, however the hard work has only just began so please bear with us if we do not reply to each of you in a timely fashion.

I will not regale you with the difficulties that we are facing behind the scenes, however I will tell you that funding remains our fundamental issue. We desperately need to get to at least 5K to get the film element of the training package wrapped up. I urge you to share our page and our work and get your friends and family involved.

This project and all of the support we receive will change the experiences for the beloved musicians we go to in our hour of need. When we too feel that the world needs a pause button or that we need to listen to aggressive rap music to get from one side of the city to the other on foot, or when we need a giant cry because we feel so stressed.

There is no quick fix in any trauma or distress, there are simply moments of time where things feel less painful. Recovery is slow and we hope to arm as many people with coping skills as possible.

We will update this blog every time we get 50 new backers.

Please keep an eye out for some amazing rewards that are due to be added soon! I cannot say too much but there is music and art up for grabs.

Thank you once again, you have made this experience a whole lot easier and SO heartwarming at a time where the world is very trying.

    Big love

    The Man Down Programme Team

  • Thank you and next steps

An update for Building a school in Madagascar

    Feb 11 2020

A very big thank you for your support towards the education project in South Madagascar.  Over the month we raised just under £500 from 13 supporters.  Whilst this a long way from what we need to build the school, it certainly takes us closer.  The next step will be to recruit some volunteers to help with administration, fundraising, website and a few other things.  We also will be looking to recruit some new Trustees as Ali and Faryad will most likely to be stepping down after 2 years of supporting us.  If you are interested to help as a Trustee or with other areas of the charity please email: maeevacharity@gmail.com  Please note that we have limited capacity so can generally take 3 or 4 days to respond.

We'll be playing some tracks from 'Fistful of Change', a couple of old favourites and a few select covers to get everyone dancing. Please join us if you can and sing along. Free admission, bring your own drinks. 8pm and we'll get you out in time to hit the town or get a good night's sleep, depending on your preference.

We hope you'll pardon the little delay and we hope that you'll feel that it's worth the wait. The preliminary mixes are sounding great and we're really looking forward to sharing the finished result with you very soon.

An update for Building a school in Madagascar

    Jan 20 2020

Whilst we are a small team at MAEEVA Charity we can see the school project moving forward bit by bit.  We are incredibly grateful for your support and know that each contribution to the project takes us closer to a better education facility for children in Satrie village and for families and community members to meet and progress their plans.  We will keep you informed of decisions about work on the school.  Below are a few photos of some of the team in Madagascar. Thanks/ Misoatra

We wanted to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to everyone for showing your support towards the Sleep Pod Project.
Together you have helped raise a MASSIVE £22,245.00

    https://www.fundsurfer.com/crowdfund/sleep-pod-fundraising-campaign

This year with your love and support you have helped build 1,000 Sleep Pods. This means these 1,000 Sleep Pods will act as an emergency aid helping to keep rough sleepers warm and dry through this Christmas and the winter months.
Together we can make a difference.

We could not run this project without your love and support - love the Sleep Pod Team Pete, Ian, Justin, Caz, Madhavi and Rachel.

  • Thank you!

An update for The Future of Bristol Pound

    Dec 21 2019

    Dear Supporter

A quick note to thank all 99 of you for supporting our crowdfunding campaign. We raised over £5,600. It's great to know that so many people love the Bristol Pound as much as we do! We'll be working out the best way to use the funds we raised in the new year. Our aim is to create the most impact we can from our work, tilting the economy to be greener, fairer and stronger.

In January we'll be sending out any rewards you requested. Please note that some of them will take a few weeks. We have now ordered the t-shirts and mugs, but as these are being made to order, we are not able to give you a precise date.

Best wishes for Christmas and the festive season,

    Diana and all the team.
