You have raised 79% of the Sleep Pod Crowd funder!!
An update for Sleep Pod Fundraising Campaign
Nov 17 2019
A huge thank you to you all for your generosity by helping raise £7,860.00. Every penny counts and will all go towards helping to protect rough sleepers and refugees during these winter months. A huge thank you to Denise Daly, friends and family who have helped raise a MASSIVE £2830.00 for the Sleep Pod Project. All this money goes directly into the project to build more Sleep Pods for those people living rough on the streets.
Through your generous donations and the kindness of volunteers 793 Sleep Pods have been built since the start of the project. This is a huge achievement, you have helped protect 793 vulnerable people, living day to day on the cold wet streets in the UK and in Paris. We are now distributing Sleep Pods in Bolton, Birmingham, Bristol, Northampton, Sheffield, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Calais, Dunkirk and Paris.
This weekend Marcus Wells gave out 18 Sleep Pods to two organisations in Bristol BOSH Bristol Outreach Services for the Homeless and People's Republic Stokes Croft. Speaking to Marcus the response has been really positive about the Sleep Pods and he said there is a huge demand for more Sleep Pods to be distributed in Bristol.
A huge thank to Rosie and George for collecting and delivering 100 Sleep Pods to the Refugee Ground Support Organisation in Paris.

Sleep Pod relies heavily on the generosity of others who share the same vision to help protect rough sleepers and refugees by keeping them warm, dry and safe. Please share the crowd funder so we can reach our target of £10,000 so we build more Sleep Pods to help protect the most vulnerable people during these cold, wet, winter months. Together we can make a difference!!
Love the Sleep Pod Team - Ian, Justin, Pete, Caroline and Madhavi

An update for The Layers' album
Nov 16 2019
Wow! What a last couple of days it was for our fundraising efforts.
Although we had set an ambitious target, in truth, we were cautious with our expectations and we've been absolutely blown away in the last couple of days. Thank you all so much for your generosity and your faith in us. As well as the financial support, we're thrilled that some of you have got involved by coming to appear on the album and by helping us with contacts for mastering and disc production. We've been busy in the studio this weekend and we're excited to report that the songs are coming together nicely. We're on target for a Christmas release so we're hoping to get your rewards out to you by then.
Very soon we'll be writing to everyone that asked for a CD or t-shirt to get contact details for postage, so keep an eye out for emails from the @layers.me.uk domain - please whitelist us so that we don't get spam filtered.
Now that our Fundsurfer page is inactive, we'll be posting occasional project updates on our blog, so take a quick look at www.thelayers.me.uk/blog to keep up with developments. As well as the album coming out and some gigs coming up in the New Year, we've got some really exciting news on the way about our website.
Once again, thank you so much for getting involved. This quite genuinely couldn't happen without you. We hope that you love the music and we'd love for as many of you as possible to come out and celebrate with us at a launch gig in 2020 - more on that to follow. In the meantime, we're heading back to the studio and we can't wait for you to hear your copy of 'Fistful of Change'.
With our eternal gratitude,
The Layers.

A huge barrier broken!
An update for The Layers' album
Nov 7 2019
Wow! Thanks to all of our amazing backers, we broke the £1000 mark today.
Thank you all so much. We set a really ambitious target and we're still hoping for a really strong finish in the last week of our campaign. Please continue to share the campaign with anyone you can think of; a little nudge here, a hint about a possible Christmas gift there... every single donation gets us that little bit closer.
We're continuing to put every spare moment that we can into getting the album finished. We're recording again in a week and a half and if any of you that have backed us want to come and get your voices on the album, come and join us in the choir for a very special track. If you can get to Stroud on the 16th or 17th of November and would like to take part, drop us a line.
Once again, thank you. We're humbled by your generosity and by your faith in us. We're straining every sinew to deliver you the best album (and t-shirt, cover version, night at a gig) that we possibly can.
With much love from The Layers.

Thank you all so much for you donations last year, the trip was a huge success!
An update for My trip to Calais - donations for food for refugees
Nov 6 2019
Thank you all so much for you donations last year, the trip was a huge success! The janitorial supplies we took over lasted them for months! With the supplies and the work we did while we were out there we were able to help hundreds of refugees living in appalling conditions in the absolutely freezing weather.
It was such an eye opener to to witness both the plight of the refugees but also the incredible amount of support, solidarity and love given by all the volunteer organisations operating out there on the ground. Refugee Community Kitchen is a truly amazing organisation, not only producing over 2000 free hot meals a day for refugees in camps and on the streets but also providing them with bags of fire wood every day as well as tents, sleeping bags and clothing.
It went so well last time and we were so inspired by what we saw that we're going out again to take out suppliers and help in the kitchen and warehouse in a couple of weeks. This time I'm taking 3 friends form school to help out too.
We have a new fund raising page to raise money for our travel and accommodation expenses here. Any additional funds raised will go directly to RCK for them to purchase more life saving suppliers for refugees in France this winter.
Please donate a few pounds if you can!
Thank you so much!
Maya, Halle, Connie, Lidia and Joby.
