  • Mixing Progress report

An update for The Imperial Plan by The Fable

    Jun 6 2016

    Hi all,

I have been working hard towards finishing the last recording parts of The Imperial Plan and beginning to make good progress on the mixing. There is just one small bit of recording work to do on the track The Alliance Waltz, which should be happening on Wednesday night. We are bringing in a professional radio voiceover specialist and I am really looking forward to the results.

Thanks to your pledges I am able to spread the mixing work between two studios to speed up the process - Attic Attack in Bristol and 13 Sound Studios in Worle. Between them both we should be able to complete the mixing by the end of June. Unfortunately that won't be in time for me to release the album on 1st July as I was hoping (the centenary of the start of the Battle of the Somme). I shall keep you posted on progress of course.

So, I hope you are enjoying the warm weather and I shall be back in touch when the mastering dates are finalised.

    Bye for now,

    Mike aka The Fable

An update for Help Refugees - #holidaysforgood - shelter campaign

    May 26 2016

    Dear all

The fundraising campaign has now ended...

I’m delighted to let you know that the final total, with gift aid added, is an amazing £40,600! Our original target was £25k. Thanks to you, we absolutely smashed it.

We feel so proud of how the Sawday’s and Canopy & Stars wider community of owners and guests came together to achieve this. Together we have raised enough to provide vital shelter for 280 people.

We should, and will, do more of this kind of thing.

Thanks again from Sawday's, Canopy & Stars and Help Refugees. We are incredibly grateful.

    Tom

    Managing Director
    Sawday's Canopy & Stars

PS - (And an important PS!) We will be drawing the lucky winners of the holidays next week, and so watch out for an email if you're one of the deserving winners... The stays will be allocated on a first come first serve basis from the list below, so you'll need to be fast. It's a bit like a wedding list. Once a holiday is taken it's gone. But fear not they're all good'uns and no 24 piece dinner sets...

  • We're EXTENDING!

An update for Support our debut feature film -- 7x7!

    May 19 2016

    Hi everyone!

In the spirit of keeping this train moving and pushing towards our goal, we have decided to extend our campaign by a few weeks to end on June 7!

    Why? A few reasons!

    1. 7 is a very meaningful number for our film. It feels much better to end on the 7th of a month rather than the 22nd. We've got nothing against the number 2, but let's be real...

    2. Some of our co-producing collaborators have not had a chance to get their networks involved. We want to have time to create maxiumum reach with the campaign!

    3. We know we can hit our goal with a little bit more time!

THANK YOU all for your contributions and continued support. Join us in pushing for our next milestone of 100 backers! Who can you ask to contribute?

  • 91 Ways - Thanks and Keep Supporting Us

An update for Help us fund and launch 91 Ways International pop up Peace Cafes!

    May 19 2016

    Dear Lovely Supporters,

First of all, thank you so much for clicking on that Pledge button and donating to our project - we are really grateful. We know Bristol loves our project - people love to come to our peace cafe, meet people from around the city, build positive relationships and eat scrumptious food. We need to keep going so please keep supporting us and tell everyone you know about us.

We will soon be announcing new rewards including cookery demos with our cooks from Eritireia, Iran and we will be holding peace suppers in the city where you can come and learn about the people from those countries and their food.

In the meantime, we have Spicery kits at 20% off the subscription price to offer anyone who pledges until Monday. These are delicious spices with easy recipes to make and share at home. These are great as presents for yor friends so just pledge to get this offer.

Here's a couple of quotes from people who come to our peace cafes:-

“We come to the peace café as guests, and we leave as friends”

“I love your project. It got me thinking about the first time I can remember food and stories bringing me closer to new people, new cultures and reminding me of my culture too”

"Life as a refugee or asylum seeker can be very isolating: you came here on your own, you don't know anyone? You also need a place to meet, make friends, learn, meet other communities, and 91 Ways and the Peace cafe  is a way of doing that"

Thanks again - we are totally grateful to you.

    91 Ways Team xx

  • Arts Council England donate £3800 to TCP-UK!

An update for TCPUK - Tunisian Collaborative Painting in the UK Launch Event

    May 18 2016

    Amazing news!!

Arts Council England have awarded us a Grant for the Arts payment which will cover the essential costs for this event... So the exhibition will go ahead, the artist's Tunisian Collaborative Painting workshop is funded for canvases, materials and artists expenses, and we can bring in a media team to document the event and create an 'in progress' short film that will be played along side the artist's completed collaborative paintings at the evening event.

This is massive news and is a huge endorsment for the launch of Tunisian Collaborative Painting in the UK!

We are now looking to reach a new target of £7000. This will allow us to:

    • Create a catalogue for the event, presenting the journey of TCP from Tunisia to New York and here to Bristol - artists profiles - and words from some founders of the art-form in Tunisia
    • Cover the rest of the event costs
    • AND! Host a follow-up exhibition of all the UK made Tunisian Collaborative Paintings to date in central Bristol

Tickets to the TCP-UK Launch Party are still available - so please SHARE with your friends and famaily and lets celebrate the birth of a new art-form in the UK - here in Bristol!
