  • Back to Work

An update for Empower Youth Voices

    May 2 2017

    Good afternoon everyone!

I hope you're having a lovely day back at work, university, or maybe even college after the long weekend.

I've been keeping busy as usual, writing press releases and articles, updating social media, contacting the press.  Crowdfunding is a lot of work you know, I never realised how much it would consume my mind and my time.

You can have a read of my press release on a site called Just Croydon, which I used to write for regulalry up until this year.  And even if you don't have a read of it, please share it far and wide so that it can reach as many people as possible: http://bit.ly/2qAnvBh

Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday.

  • 12 Days Remain!

An update for Upfest 2017 - Street Art & Graffiti Festival

    May 2 2017

    Hey folks,

It's getting tense here at Upfest HQ, with just 12 days to go to hit target....

Your pledges to date has been greatly appreciated and you'll be rewarded well for your generosity, new rewards are being added every few days so be sure to check back before the end.... New up this weekend were the official 2017 festival prints by PAHNL at just £55

You've all been amazing so far, but if you can find the time to share the www.fundsurfer.com/upfest page with your friends and colleagues saying you've supported us, every bit of awareness of the crowd-funding helps with personal examples of those pledging meaning even more.

Tag us on twitter or Instagram @upfest or #upfest  or find us on facebook upfest.bristol

And if you didn't know, everyone that pledges (new or old), will be entered into a draw to win luxury hotel accommodation at Upfest this year courtesy of Mercure Hotels... Bonus!

Thanks again for your ongoing support, please share...

  • Introducing Alana

An update for Empower Youth Voices

    May 1 2017

    Hello everyone!

I hope you're having a lovely bank holiday Monday.

I'd like to take this time to introduce you to Alana, a very special young person who has regularly been involved in Young People Insight since February 2016.  You might remember me mentioning her in one of the previous updates, as she led out in a forum for the first time in April.

Alana also happens to be an amazing spoken word performer and in this video, she shares her experience of taking part in Poetic Insight.  Have a watch and please share it with others.

  • We've passed the halfway mark!

An update for Prevent Drug and Alcohol Use in 5 Schools Through Performing Arts Workshops

    May 1 2017

    Hi all!

So we've passed the halfway point, and there is just over two weeks left of the crowdfunding campaign left! We cannot believe how quickly the time has gone, but we are doing so well and have raised £1,105! We've had unbelievable support from our friends and family and we are very grateful! So as we going into the final two weeks, we ask that you continue to share our campaign, tell a new person about why you donated to our project, and help us can reach more people and achieve our target of £1,500.

Last week we did a LIVE crowdfunding event, which was scary but also really fun! We pitched to over 100 people about our project and why we needed them to donate to our campaign. The event was the Business Launchpad Awards, whcih was a great evening and was very inspiring hearing about the great things that other organisations were doing and seeing their achievements being recognised. A big well done to all the winners!

Thank again for all the support, remember only 2 WEEKS TO GO!

    Helena & Daniel

  • Over £5,000 raised so far for Molly's campaign!

An update for Make History and help elect a Green MP in Bristol West!

    Apr 29 2017

Thanks for your support everyone, let's keep the momentum for a Green MP in Bristol West going, please keep sharing this project page!

Message from Molly at launch of new campaign hub in Bristol, today

"We've just opened our Campaign Hub. Thanks to the many Greens from Bristol and around the country who turned up for the opening and more importantly, to campaign in Bristol West. We've currently got over 60 volunteers on the streets speaking to voters, letting them know we can win in Bristol West. We can make history, we can elect myself as Bristol's first ever Green MP, and with your help, we will.

We're out all this weekend and we'll be every night from now until polling day - drop by our Campaign Hub on Cheltenham Road to join our biggest ever campaign (and to pick up a window poster!). Help build the movement. Thank you, Molly"

  • Keep On Sharing

An update for Empower Youth Voices

    Apr 28 2017

    Happy Friday everyone!

Last night's pitch at the Business Launchpad Awards 2017 went well - poetry is what we do after all - and some good contacts were made.

However, converting our pitch into pledges is continuing to prove difficult.  Hopefully that will change with 19 days left to reach our target, so please keep sharing the campaign with as many people as you can and let them know why you pledged to our campaign.

As a reminder of why we do what we do, have a watch of some of the performances from the Love & Hate edition of Poetic Insight.  Hope you enjoy.

  • Pitching at Business Launchpad Awards 2017

An update for Empower Youth Voices

    Apr 27 2017

    Hello everyone,

It's a big day for me, as I'm going to be pitching later at the Business Launchpad Awards 2017 as part of a live crowdfunding element.  For me, delivering the pitch is relatively simple, but facing questions from those in attendance and promoting my campaign in conversation will be the difficult part.

I'm someone who hates having to talk about myself and I fail to mention the important elements of what I'm doing, but I know I'm going to have to get over that if I want to make Young People Insight successful.

So as I begin to work the room at about 5.15pm and then take to the stage at 7.25pm to deliver my pitch, please send me some best wishes and cyber love.  I would greatly appreciate it.
